Orlando Top 10 Things to Do
- THEME & WATER PARKS Orlando is known for its theme parks for good reason! There’s Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, Sea World Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida, just to name a few. Many of the theme parks have their own water parks, but you can also check out Aquatica Orlando, Coco Key’s Water Park, and Island H2O Water Park. Take your kids or bring out your own inner child!
- GOLF A number of iconic players and prominent course architects have designed golf courses in Orlando. In fact, Reunion Resort, where our homes are located, features courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson! Practice your game at these and other courses, such as the Grand Cypress Golf Club, Waldorf Astoria® Golf Club, and Grande Vista Golf Club.
- ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICTS Step back in time and visit the retro-styled entertainment district known as Old Town, where you can spend an afternoon or evening shopping, dining, and enjoying family-friendly fun. Another option is ICON park, which features more than 50 restaurants, bars, shops, and amusement park rides. Make sure you take a ride on the 400 ft tall observation wheel for views of Orlando too.
- ZOO & AQUARIUM Love animals of all kinds? Visit the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens or Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. Originally opening the 1923 and moving to its current location in 1975, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is a historical staple of Orlando and home to 350+ animals across more than 100 species. At the Orlando Aquarium, “come face to fin” with rescued sea creatures, experience Florida’s only 360°ocean tunnel, take part in feedings, and more.
- KENNEDY SPACE CENTER VISITOR COMPLEX Visit NASA’s launch headquarters to learn about past, present, and future space exploration via exciting attractions and tours. If you time your visit just right, you can even watch a real rocket launch!
- LAKE EOLA Take a leisurely stroll or morning run around Lake Eola, located in downtown Orlando. View real-life swans and swan-shaped paddle boats or catch a movie, play, or concert at the Walt Disney Amphitheater, situated on the west side of the lake.
- SHOPPING Whether you’re shopping for luxury items or bargains, Orlando has some amazing options! Visit the Mall at Millenia, International Premium Outlets, and Florida Mall.
- HANG OUT WITH GATORS Want to get up close and personal (safely, of course!) with these fascinating creatures? Check out Gatorland, the “Alligator capital of the world” to see all sizes of these reptiles. There’s also a petting zoo, animal shows, and the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line. If you’d rather get out on the water to see them and explore the Florida Everglades, consider taking an airboat tour with companies like Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures and Wild Florida (both have gator parks too).
- ORLANDO MUSEUM OF ART Spend a day soaking in arts and culture at the Orlando Museum of Art. Several exhibitions across genres and artists are featured each year.
- RELAX AND UNWIND Lay out by the pool, BBQ with friends… anything to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and unwind.
