Martha’s Vineyard Top 10 Things to Do

  1. TOWNS Take time to explore the uniqueness of Oak Bluffs (Circuit Avenue), Edgartown (Main Street), Vineyard Haven (Main Street), Aquinnah, Chilmark, and West Tisbury (our preferred order). Each town has its own character and history.
  2. BEACHES Town Beach aka Inkwell Beach, State Beach (home of Jaws Bridge), and South Beach are our personal favorites and each provides a different experience.
  3. GINGERBREAD COTTAGES Adorned with bright colors and ornate wood architecture, these picturesque homes are a historic part of Martha’s Vineyard.
  4. FLYING HORSES CAROUSEL A national landmark, and the nation’s oldest platform carousel.
  5. ISLAND ALPACA These adorable animals belong to the same family as camels and llamas, and are sure to delight children and adults.
  6. MENEMSHA BEACH SUNSET One of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see… anywhere.
  7. AQUINNAH CLIFFS Indulge in the natural serenity of these multi-colored, clay cliffs at the westernmost part of the island in Aquinnah. The historic lighthouse is open during the summer.
  8. CHAPPAQUIDDICK ISLAND Known to the locals as “Chappy.” Check out the Mytoi Japanese garden and the sand dunes on this quaint little island that lies 527 feet off the mainland and is only accessible by ferry.
  9. RESTAURANTS There are far too many to name, but some of our favorites include Linda Jean’s, Sharky’s, Fat Ronnie’s, Nancy’s, Lookout Tavern, Copper Work, Biscuits, Art Cliff Diner, Mocha Motts, Edgartown Diner, Bangkok Thai, Red Cat Kitchen, Giordano’s, The Wharf, and for dessert, the delicious apple fritters at Backdoor Donuts!
  10. RELAX AND DISCONNECT Take a walk, ride a bike, BBQ with friends, or just enjoy nature… anything to soak in “island time.”
